Arapahoe Basin Ski Area

Located just 68 miles west of Denver, Arapahoe Basin is celebrating its 60th anniversary this season. Developed by a group of pioneers shortly after World War II, Arapahoe Basin boasts the highest skiable terrain (13,500') and one of the longest seasons (October - June) in North America.

Highlighted by the incomparable steeps, trees and bumps of Pallavicini, East Wall and North Glades. The terrain and the rich history have earned Arapahoe Basin the title - The Legend.

Dundee Resort Development purchased the ski area in 1997. Dundee's commitment to the ski area is represented through the many upgrades put forth since the purchase. These include the addition of snowmaking, a new triple chairlift, a new summit house and a new snow sports base area building. In the Spring of 2007, the Basin will celebrate the opening of its first on mountain restaurant, Black Mountain Lodge.

Black Mountain Lodge at Arapahoe Basin
The new mid-way mountain restaurant, Black Mountain Lodge, at Arapahoe Basin began construction the summer of 2006. Located at 11,000 feet at the top of the Exhibition chairlift, the lodge will be ready to host its first guest the spring of 2007 and will provide on-mountain amenities to our skiers and riders such as food, drinks, restrooms and retail sales. The 250 seat restaurant will feature gorgeous views of the Eastwall and the Continental Divide. We believe this amenity will provide our guests a unique on-mountian refuge where they can enjoy one-of-a-kind views at the legendary Arapahoe Basin ski area in Summit County.
